Juan Guillermo Cortez
Juan moved to Chicago, IL, from his native Lima, Peru, on May 12, 1999. On the 4th of July of the same year, Juan started teaching Spanish for the first time.
From day one, Juan started working on developing and implementing a method that his students could use. His method was constantly being tested and modified in order to assure that it was effective and fun for his students.
On December 5, 2001, Juan founded the Spanish Language Center (SpanishLC). Due to the effectiveness of his teaching method, demand for his classes grew and grew and soon Juan had to hire and train other teachers to teach with his method. SpanishLC quickly expanded to its current 3 locations in the Chicago land area.
The method developed by Juan - named the Cortez Method - has allowed him and his teachers to clearly explain the Spanish language to his students for its immediate application in conversation.
The content and guidelines of the Cortez Method have been the backbone of the success of the Spanish Language Center.
